Still Here

I'm still around, just haven't felt much like posting. Thanks, my few readers, for your kind comments. I'm still surprised by how good and encouraging it is to be going through this with you who understand when it seems like no one else does.

It's strange to have a break from the frenzy of treatment we went through over the past few months. No routine of meds, no preoccupation with my body, no wild hopes and crazy hormones. It was wonderful to get out of town for Thanksgiving. My mom's side of the family (about 35 people) all go to the mountains and rent out a church camp for Wednesday to Saturday. The camp is owned by the church I grew up going to, and I was there about 4 times a year every year of my life. It was a comfort to be there, to be with my family, to be right smack in the middle of God's creation. As we were driving home Saturday afternoon, I realized I hadn't thought about this whole IF mess for a whole day or two. It had felt good to be free of that burden, and even though it settled back on me as we descended, it settled more lightly than before.

Christmas is right around the corner and I'm glad. My bible study is doing an OT study this year, and I sometimes feel a little bogged down by it (though it is completely valuable and important). It just feels refreshing and comforting to put my focus back on my Savior and the joy of his birth.

Mr. T will sadly be back out of town a good chunk of December. He leaves in a few days and comes back the 22nd. Arg. You'll know I'm trying to distract myself from missing him when I start posting several times a day. :)
